The 12 Most Famous Offspring of Screen Heroes

When filming new parts of cult cinema franchises, the characters grow, develop, and even manage to acquire offspring.

WeGoRo decided to collect the 12 most famous offspring of screen heroes. Read to the end to see something interesting. Hint: this is the youngest member of one movie family.

Spoiler alert!

Guardians of the Galaxy

In the first part of Guardians of the Galaxy, viewers were tormented by this question: Who is the father of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt)? In the second film, we found out the truth. It was the almighty Ego the Living Planet, played by Kurt Russell. Laura Haddock played Peter Quill’s mother.

Pirates of the Caribbean

In the fifth chapter of this epic story, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, we learned that Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) has an adult daughter, astronomy lover Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario). Here’s a cute skeleton in the closet.

The child of one of the brightest movie couples grew up and turned into a prominent young man: Henry Turner, played by Brenton Thwaites. From his mother, Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), he inherited beauty and an ability to never give up; from his father, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), he gained a craving for adventure and love for the sea.

The legendary Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones has played the father of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) twice. Captain Teague turned out to be no less colorful than his son.

Independence Day

Independence Day is a cult film of the ’90s. In its sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence, we meet new characters, including the son of pilot Steven Hiller (Will Smith) and dancer Jasmine Dubrow (Vivica A. Fox). His name is Dylan Hiller, and he was played by Jessie Usher. The son, like his father, is brave and already on his way to becoming a hero.

Patricia Whitmore, performed by Maika Monroe, is a clever and beautiful girl. Her father is former US President Thomas Whitmore (Bill Pullman), and her mother Marilyn Whitmore (Mary McDonnell) died during the alien attack. This time, the daughter follows her father’s example from the first film and takes part in saving the world.

Indiana Jones

In the latest movie of the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, we get to know Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf), the son of Jones (Harrison Ford) and Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen). The unusual family will experience many trials and at the same time solve the mysteries of ancient treasures.

Star Wars

One of the longest-running and most iconic movie sagas boasts a solid genealogical tree. Beautiful Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) gave birth to two children fathered by Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen): Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Given the sequence of the movies, it’s understandable that the actors playing the parents are much younger than the actors playing the children, but this is interesting nonetheless.

The tagline of Star Wars: Episode VII  The Force Awakens is "Every generation has a story." The plot of the film fully justifies it because we are introduced to a new character: Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), the son of Princess Leia Organo (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford). We may only guess whose descendants we will get to learn about in the future.

Austin Powers

In the last movie about the endlessly charming world-class spy, Austin Powers in Goldmember, we learn about the unexpected relations of the characters. It turns out that heartthrob and spy Nigel Powers (Michael Caine) is the father not only of Austin Powers (Mike Myers) but also his sworn enemy, Doctor Evil (also played by Mike Myers).

Star Trek

At the very beginning of Star Trek (2009), we get acquainted with Captain George Kirk, played by Chris Hemsworth. And then we meet his son, brave James Kirk (Chris Pine), whose resemblance to his father is noted by all members of the star academy who once knew George.

Bonus: The Fast and the Furious

In The Fate of the Furious (2017), the family of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is blessed with a baby! Now Dominic is bringing up baby Brian, named after Dominic’s friend Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker). Brian’s mom is the beautiful policewoman Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky). Perhaps after 10 more parts of the franchise, we will meet Dominic’s grandkids.

This is definitely not all! Add to our list in the comments!
