Sometimes our imagination can’t process the real size of things. We usually make everything smaller in our head because we can’t believe that some things can be that huge.
Kevin Wisbith created collages that help us understand the real size of objects. WeGoRo was really impressed, and we’re ready to share these pictures with you.
The rocket engine M-1 was developed for NASA’s space program in the ’50s. It’s the biggest engine in the world: its diameter is more than 13 ft (4 m), and it can cover the smart car.
Prehistoric bugs were bigger than modern ones because of the high oxygen level. These scorpions were 2 ft (60 cm) long — almost as long as cats. Fortunately, they are now extinct.
Seawise Giant, an oil tanker, is 1,502 ft (458 m) long. If it were placed into the biggest lake in New York’s Central Park, there would be only 32 ft (10 m) of free space at the front and the rear.
The asteroid “Dionysus” is a part of the Apollo asteroids group. Its width is 4,920 ft (1.5 km). If it floated over the Golden Gate Bridge, it would look like this.
In its time, Titanic was one of the biggest vessels. Its length was 882 ft (269 m). But if we compared it with the Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier, it doesn’t look that big. It’s no surprise: the aircraft carrier’s length is 1,092 ft (333 m).
The biggest radio telescope is located in China, and its diameter is almost 1,640 ft (500 m). This is how it would look in the center of Las Vegas.
The Mirny Diamond Mine is one of the deepest in the world: its depth is 1,722 ft (525 m). If the Willis Tower, the 2nd highest building in the USA at 1,729 ft (527 m), were placed inside, there would be only a spike showing above.
The B-2 bomber is one of the biggest and most expensive bombers in the world. Its wingspan is almost 177 ft (50 m), and it can be compared to a football pitch’s width.
The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world with a height of 2,716 ft (828 m). It’s 1,466 ft (447 m) higher than the Empire State Building, and it’s even above the clouds.
If the Death Star existed, it would look like this while flying over Florida.
